We Are Moving.. and other musings

Wow, i can't believe it's been so long since i posted either, actually it's been a long time since i even looked at the family's blogs, but the summer has flown by.
It is hard to believe that we moving and i know all of you know by now, but it still seems surreal to us. We just have been really blessed as a family, Janna got her job at the school (YEAH JANNA), Joc has moved out with roommates,it all seems to be a time of change for us.
We have known about the possibility of this job for dad for a long time, and it feels so good to finnally be able to talk about it. I know it has been hard for joc and janna who have shared this with us the whole time.
The future looks exciting for us in Edmonton and i am anxious to be able to go up and look at houses.
Jaala and Breanna are going to school, wow, that does sound exciting for them. It does make you wonder were does the time go.
Good on you Jen for still working on your books,. I am glad you have the opportuity to sub once in a while too. Now i hope you can continue to work on your health and getting to feel better more often. We very much appreciate you taking Maki for us for the winter, albeit it is going to be very hard on Joc.
Joc. we love you and are proud of you for the life changes you are making. We know how hard it is for you to deal with all the challenges, but we know you can do it.
Jon and Heather, thanks for phoning on some houses for us.. i am looking forward to coming up.
A lot of changes, but positive ones.. A very busy time for our family.
Love to all

All you ever wanted to know about a dam fettish..... but were afraid to ask

Shame on you.. you thought i was swearing didn't you.. tsk tsk.. not even close
It has come to my attention in helping clean out Joc's room that she is harboring a secret fettish.. In the bottom drawer of the old dresser, ( yes that's the one, the cherry wood that we so shameless painted over in the underpines of being young and foolish and broke, and thought it would look better).. we since know different but have yet to do anything about it.. but anyway.. do you want to hear about Joc's secret fettish or not.. stop interruping with silly questions. Now where was I.
Oh, yes, in the bottom drawer I found an whole envelope of dam pictures.. (there now you thought i was swearing again didn't you).. shame shame double shame.. i know your name.
No really pictures of dams, like St. Mary's Dam in particular. She says they were dads, but i will let you be the judge?????
Back to work for me.. ..
Love to all and let's all give a cheer for dam lovers everywhere, bye for now.

EVENING ANCTICS

In keeping with the 10 list of David Letterman and, of course, the Mighty Elroy, i have ten reasons of things to do in an evening.
number 10: Eat.
Number 9: type on one of your many trials.. NAh, scracth that one.
Number 8: Watch Lost episodes again.. YEAH Janna, i can pretend like i understand what is goin on.
Number 7: Take Maki for a walk and watch her bark at passerby's and pee on every blade of grass that smells interesting.. could be fun.
Number 6 Watch Gilmore Girls series final and then go and mention it to Joc and have her get all upset again.. .. Only if you are feeling in a very mean-spirited mood though, which i do not recommend.. by the way who wrote that.
Number 5 Count Sheep, by the way Janna, i saw Murphy the other day, he had skipped over to my fence and totally messed up my system.. bad Murphy
Number 4 Paint a rock, knit a purse, crochet a doiley (can't you all just picture dad doing that one)
Number 3; Get Lost in a book Did everybody catch that punn. LOST.. he he.. . a plug for the member of the library board in our family
NUmber 2 Watch Old Movies and laugh .. Creature from the Black Lagoon .. The Blob,
Killer Klowns from Outer Space. throw Killer Tomatoes from Outer Space and try to take over the world by poisioning human inhabitants with tainted salads
NUMBER 1.. GO To the Emergency Room with sick daughter as an excuse, who has ooze coming out of her poor ear and check out the cute doctors.. Sorry janna.. trying to make light of your current situation, which she is as white as this paper..
.

Well back to typing.. Tension breaker.. had to be done. LATERS

Something Witty This way Comes

Hi,
How is that for a catchy title, now i know you must be expecting something witty, and sorry to say I don't got much. I know it has been a while since i posted, but life just gets too busy sometimes.
Thanks to all for the renunion in Saskatchewan, it was wonderful and most memorable. The photographers in the family took excellent pictures, and I am very excited to see the other pictures when they come. We are such a photogenic bunch.
This is an exciting but busy time for all of us. Joc, i am so pleased and excited for her, what a milestone, to graduate, but to graduate with such high marks, and her projects and efforts were wonderful. Way to Go BOO-BOO, we are all very proud of you.. You done good girl. ..Thanks to Jon and Heather for coming down to celebrate this moment.. It was a long time coming Jocelyn, but we know the effort it has been for you, and we are proud of you.

Janna, (AKA, known as youngest and prettiest new library board member).. have fun in Jasper.

Jen and Bryan.. i know the house must seem quieter now, but we are all behind you in your decision about the dogs, we know it was not an easy decision for both of you, but it was the right one. I am so proud of you too, Jen, going of any medication is not easy, I have done that too, as has Jada, but it can be done, and we hope it gets easier for you. Good on you.

J and J and J and J.. how is the new job working out Justin, got all the kinks worked out yet.

This has turned out to be more of a news report, but i am fighting a cold, (I tried the crane technique on it, and the cold deflected with a kick back to the neck, and i am down, but not out.. Stay posted for futher updates.) and the wittiness is just gone.. i will try and think of something better later on.
..
Love and Best Wishes to all.

MUSINGS FROM THE BASEMENT

No, that is not snoozing from the basement, it is musing.. We just watched The Hills have Eyes, and now i wonder if i want them, .. wow those were disturbing Hills, not like us Hills who are not disturbing at all, but normal, everyday, run-of-the-mill, types, you know.. .. anyway.. on with my musing or whatever.
In a somber moment, i was reflecting on the nature of horror movies and what they are as of late. Back when you all were kids, the horror was a little more hockeier and laughable, like the Creature from the Black Lagoon, or The Blob, or the old favorite Creepshow with the Zunni warrior, that Jon and i used to think was so funny. I did enjoy the horror shows, as they were called back then and they seemed to do no harm. The same is not true of the horror movies of today.
I admit i am getting old and being in the basement has probably narrowed my view of the world, but in watching that movie, and ones like Saw and Texas Chainsaw massacre, i wonder what have i created in the watching of horror movies. I love the time we spend as a family together and i like to think i can handle a lot of gore and disturbing content, but i must admit, in my musing, that i do not enjoy it as much as i used to.. Not that i don't love the time with family because i do, so very much, but i must admit, my limit of gruesome has reached it's limit.. Sorry guys, i am going soft and squishy, and you can call me whimp or whatever..
Just my musings from the basement.
So much for episode three.
Oh, by the way .. the t-shirt contest i know it was hard because everybody was so busy, but Justin, thank you, you are the official winner.. Thanks so much for changing the format.. i am so hoping i am going to have enough time to finish the t-shirts. i have bought t-shirts for everyone and plan on embroidering on them just before we go. Thanks again for the entries. Bryan ,, The Hills have Eyes, was considered, but after watching the movie, was sadly rejected.. Sorry. Love ya..
Love to all

Ten minute picnic

Thank you, Janna.. She helped me figure this out to her bloggedly challenged mom.. Is that a word, bloggedly. I have learned that in the typing word that i live in there are all kinds of words that are actually words.. just in case you were wondering.
Wow, episode 2, now something witty.. Hmm.. it was sure great having Jon and Heather and family stay for the weekend. I am concerned for Jon's upcoming surgery as a good mother should be. .. LOL.. Mom is praying for you, Jon, keep me posted.
We had a very windy ten minute picnic., it was almost 11 minutes, but we shoved the last ham sandwich down and raced for the car. we are trying for the 9 minute flat picnic in a snowstorm, so we can be the best.. Anybody up for it.. anybody. anybody.. Jada, Heather,, Boo-boo.. Hello. . In case you are looking for me, i'm the wimp in the car.. lol.
I have had a few entries on the contest and they are great.. thank you.

That is all for episode 2, i guess.. love to all

This is open to all family members and expires on March 23rd. The winner gets bragging rights and a free t-shirt and who knows i might throw in a too-prize.. This is for a logo that i want to put on our t-shirts for the upcoming picture at Easter, that i am sssoooooo much looking forward to.. (You all listen to mother now, if anybody is thinking of not coming, just talk to Norman..).. he will change your mind.. Now that i have put the fear in you..LOL. anyway the logo needs to say something cutsy or whatever about our family that i can embroider on a tee shirt, no, not a pillow, a tee shirt, so nothing too big..just a monogram type thing, .. you be the judge.. that is all I have to say.. expect to know what i am doing would be nice.
